One-time Setup: Downloading the eddy App
To install eddy in your workplace, scroll to the bottom of the left-side navigation bar. In the apps section, click the plus arrow to access the app installer. Here, you can search for eddy and install it into your workspace.
How to Talk to eddy
There are two ways you, your team, and New Hire will talk to eddy:
Commands: These keywords are used to let eddy know what you need to do next.
Response Text: eddy will read and process the responses to questions complete tasks like team setup, onboarding, data reporting, etc.
eddy's commands are simple to use and offer a wide range of features to assist in setting up and completing your onboarding process. To use commands, just type in the keyword in the chat box and eddy will assist you. No special punctuation is necessary! Read the Commands List for commands, syntax, and use.
Here you will begin your first interaction with eddy. To activate eddy, you will need to type in the command "register". eddy will then prompt you to enter your registration code.
Now you are able to begin Manager Intake which will set up your first team. This process should only take about 2 minutes. eddy will ask a few questions during the intake process to customize the Onboarding experience to get on the right timezone for your team and hook into the correct channels and team resources. Once this is complete, the team is set up and a New Hire is ready to start onboarding!
